About this Program

91ÇÑ×Ó’s School Counseling M.A. prepares socially responsible and ethical leaders who serve their communities with care, competence, and commitment. Our two-year CACREP-accredited master's program builds these leaders through active community engagement, collaboration, and connection.

You will be learning with and from a diverse group of people. Our rich learning environment exposes you to the experiences of your classmates and expert faculty, as well as internship supervisors and community mentors. 91ÇÑ×Ó’s cohort model and intentionally developed course curriculum will help you build a valuable professional network of supportive colleagues you can access for the rest of your career.

What is School Counseling?

School counseling is the professional practice of building a comprehensive school counseling program in an educational setting to improve success for ALL students. For many, is as much an identity as it is a profession. School counselors work at , , and levels to promote access and equity, support social emotional development, and encourage well-being across the whole school environment.

School counselors use their lens as mental health professionals in schools to promote academic, career, and social-emotional development. School counseling direct services include individual counseling, group counseling, classroom guidance, and crisis response. They also actively engage as leaders, advocates, and resources to the whole school community by connecting with families and caregivers, consulting and collaborating with school staff, and being a bridge to resources in the community.
